If you are looking to discontinue backing up a specific computer while retaining its data on the Cloud for potential future restoration, selecting the option to archive the computer is your optimal choice.

Archiving a computer will eliminate it from the list of added computers, all the while preserving the backed-up files (without altering the used storage space). This feature is particularly useful for computers you no longer intend to use or to make room for adding a new computer to your account (note that Home users are allowed one active computer, while Business users can add up to three (3) active computers per user). The archived computer’s files, however, remain accessible for potential future restoration.

In cases where you want to temporarily suspend the backup for a computer, it is advisable to avoid archiving and instead utilize the “suspend” option. Suspending a computer acts as a pause on its backup process from the server’s side. This action doesn’t remove the computer from your “My Computers” page, but rather instructs the Zoolz desktop client to halt backups for that particular computer, awaiting a resume command.

It is important to bear in mind that once a machine is archived, reactivation or continued use of its backup will not be possible.
