Introduction

Zoolz offers continuous data protection (CDP) through customizable scheduling settings. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up backup schedules.

For regular PCs, the computer must be powered on, not in sleep or hibernation mode, and the user must be logged into their profile for the scheduled backup to start. If these conditions are not met, the backup will be postponed to the next scheduled time.
On Windows server platforms, the Zoolz desktop application can execute scheduled backups even if no user is logged in to the server.

How to Schedule the Zoolz Backup

Method 1: Using the Zoolz Desktop Software

  1. Open the Zoolz desktop application.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Select the Schedule option from the left side menu.
  4. Set how often you wish Zoolz to back up your files. There will be two options there:
    • Backup Every: By using this option, you will be telling Zoolz how frequently you want it to upload any new and modified files it has detected under your selected directories.
By selecting this option, you can also tell Zoolz how frequently you want it to go ahead and check all your selected directories again, to make sure nothing has been missed, especially when backing up network drives that are not connected all the time. You can do this using the Perform a full scan on all selections every option.
    • On Schedule: By using this option, you will be telling Zoolz the exact time and day to start the upload process of the new and modified files it has detected under your selected directories. You can also specify at what time you prefer that Zoolz stops the upload, but this is optional.
  5. Click the Save icon.

Method 2: From the Zoolz Web Console

This approach is exclusively accessible within the Business edition of Zoolz.
  1. Sign in to your Zoolz web console as an admin user.
  2. Refer to the Policies tab.
  3. Click on the Edit button next to the policy name you wish to edit, or create a new policy.
  4. Under the Settings tab, and from the Backup Schedule section, set the schedule scheme which you want.
