Each time Zoolz runs; new, modified and changed files will be added to the backup. Small files will be taken as a whole file, for faster restoration. However, large modified files can be backed up using Zoolz’s Block Level Technology. This technology is ideal for large files that undergo slight changes like databases, Outlook email files (PST) and so on. In this type of backup, only changes within the file will be backed up and not the entire file, saving more space and time.
To add more file extensions to the list of the files you wish Zoolz to back them up using the Block Level technology, please apply the following:
Method 1: From the Zoolz Software
- Right-click Zoolz agent (icon) in the system tray → Open Dashboard.
- Click on the Settings option.
- Refer to the Advanced Settings.
- In the input box of the Block Level Extensions, type the extensions of the files you wish Zoolz to back them up using this technology.
- Click the Save icon.
Method 2: From the Zoolz website
- Sign into your Zoolz online account.
- Refer to the Policies tab → Select to Edit an existing policy, or go ahead and create a new one.
- From under the Extensions tab, and in the Block Level Extensions box, type the extensions of the files you wish Zoolz to back them up using this technology.
- Click the Save button.
- Right-click Zoolz agent (icon) in the system tray → Open Dashboard.
- Click on the Settings option.
- Refer to the Advanced Settings.
- In the input box of the Block Level Extensions, type the extensions of the files you wish Zoolz to back them up using this technology.
- Click the Save icon.
Method 1: Using BigMIND Desktop Software
- Right-click BigMIND agent (icon) in the system tray → Open Dashboard.
- Click on Settings.
- Select the Advanced Settings option from the left side menu.
- In the input box of the Block Level Extensions, type the extensions of the files you wish Zoolz to back them up using this technology.
- Click the Save icon.
Method 2: From the BigMIND Website
This method applies when you are using a policy to control the backup.
- Sign into your BigMIND online account.
- Select the Policies option from the left side menu.
- Click on the Edit icon (
) next to the policy name you wish to edit, or create a new policy. - Under the Extensions tab, and from the Block Level Extensions section, type the extensions of the files you wish Zoolz to back them up using this technology.
- Click the Save button.
